What is a Tangle Toy?
There is fidget toy phenomenon going on and my tween son is caught up in it. He practically begged me for a Tangle toy and when asked him why, his reply was “I wanna twist it all up!”
Valid reason for a ten year old boy I suppose?
For the price, we ended up just buying a three pack because he couldn’t decide between the Original Tangle Jr. or the Metallic one… I know, I know, decisions, decisions are hard when you’re 10.
Tangle is From 1981
Notice there on the Tangle it says Copyright 1981 Richard K. Zawitz. I thought that was interesting. I hadn’t really noticed the Tangle toy before but it seems to have been around since the 80’s. That could be why this toy is named, Tangle Jr.?
What Does the Tangle Toy Do?
It twists all up of course! And as always, I ended up getting his brother one too, because who wants fighting? Not me.
No, seriously, it’s pretty darn cool because it does twist all up but for some reason it’s intriguing because of all the different ways you can twist it. I’m one of those people who twists her hair a lot and to me, this reminded me of that.
It feels similar to twisting your hair up in your finger, where it wraps around the finger all the way to the tip. It doesn’t really “tangle” but that’s just me being critical. We have a lot of fidget toys, and this is his favorite (yes, even over the spinners and fidget cubes).
Here’s Jeremy Showing Off His Tangle!
Twist and tangle it.
Where Can I Buy a Tangle Jr.?
Amazon has a huge selection of these Tangle toys to choose from, what color you get isn’t always clear.
If you’re buying these as a gift, my son says the metallic ones his favorite but the colored ones are still cool too (so there you have it from a ten year old if you’re shopping for kids).
- Fidget toy that tangles and twists.
- It’s a puzzle and fidget toy all in one.
- There are a ton of different ones to choose from.
- It’s not very big, fits in the palm of your hand.
So You Want a Tangle Jr.?
Amazon has a few of them to choose from, I’ve also seen them at Walmart, but they cost a bit more there. The upside of buying them in a store is color choice the downside is cost.
